July 2023, my Amazon Echo 2nd generation stopped connecting to my Wi-Fi and was displaying a red circle/ ring or a Orange light. Because my network names were the same, I tried disabling the 5 GHz Network and only having a 2.4 GHz network available but it would still not work. After trying to connect it for hours and letting it sit on updating purple circle, I finally decided to take a look at the router it turns out the router updated and started supporting WPA2 and WPA3; which after many hours of research found that the Amazon Echo and other devices do NOT support. 1. Disable WPA3 on your router 2. Reboot the Wi-Fi router 3. Enter setup mode on ECHO/ Alexa 4. Reconnecting the ECHO/ Alexa using the Alexa APP 5. Profit $$$ You might have to "factory reset" your ECHO/ Alexa device to get into the setup mode.
