Ninja Tea Room

I’ve come across other articles from EFF that describe how to take advantages of the DMCA safe harbor provision. This is the first article I’ve seen that directly addresses the Fediverse. If you have a Mastodon, Lemmy, or other Fediverse server, this will probably be of interest to you.

Hello ninjas! I'm fairly new to this instance and I've really been enjoying it so far. I came from .world so I'm stoked to not be dealing with all that downtime. My question is regarding vote counts and how they federate. I've noticed that on pretty much all of my posts from the last week I have a higher vote count when viewed from my .ninja account than when I look at them from .world. I figured this maybe had something to do with .world being down (which was where the posts were posted) But today I've noticed the opposite. I'm seeing over 50 when viewed from .world but only a handful from my .ninja account. I guess my question is how does that work? Does it periodically update, and it just hasn't caught up yet?

This is the state where cannabis is legal and shrooms are decriminalized. NOW it makes more sense!

I watched these 17 years ago when they first came out. Deep ninja philosophy for those wondering.

Are you looking to build out your next system using AMD tech? This is the place on lemmy.ninja to ask other users about their experience, hints on builds, and concerns using AMD technology. We also discuss steam decks here since they are built using AMD APU’s.

Yeah, so, sorry for the Facebook post, but it looks to me like the social media coordinator for Wendys has gone insane. Certifiably bonkers. [See for yourself](https://www.facebook.com/wendys/) At what point do we intervene?

Hello all! My story is neither new nor unique these days. Really disliked how Reddit handled the API situation, and greatly reduced my browsing of Reddit since the protests began. Like many people, I loved using the Apollo app to access subreddits and once that shutdown I started to explore what kinds of Reddit alternatives existed. That led me to the Fediverse and eventually wefwef which looked so much like Apollo I knew I had to give Lemmy a try. Still super new to all of the Fediverse/Lemmy/ lingo and was super confused what instance to join (a large one? a small one? a Goldilocks just right one?). I randomly happened upon lemmy.ninja and I got to say, big shout out to the mods. I really appreciated the FAQs for new users and the updates/transparency in the news community. Plus, I figured what better way to navigate this new "world" than with ninjas! Thanks for accepting my sign up and I look forward to exploring all the various communities!

We all know that [wefwef](https://wefwef.app) is the superior choice, but if you're looking for an alternative app to view or interact with Lemmy, then this github project has you covered. It contains a list of pretty much every app project with automatically updating statuses. Take a look and see if something strikes your fancy. (And then use wefwef, because it's the best one.)

All accounts should be fully active according to the database. Create a post and leave an intro so we know yours works!

We may not be lemmy.world with its 81,000 users, but we like to think of ourselves as just as important as they are in the fediverse. That's why I'm thrilled to announce that Lemmy.ninja has reached 20 users! (That's legitimate users, by the way. No more bots here!) To welcome our new users, I'd like to take a second to share the best tips that we've learned since launching on June 13, 2023. 1. If you are a mobile user and you liked Apollo, go try [wefwef.app](https://wefwef.app/posts/lemmy.ninja/all). It's a web app that is trying to achieve parity of features with both Apollo and Lemmy. It is arguably faster than using a lemmy instance's web UI, and by combining features from Lemmy and Apollo, it creates a better user experience. Try it out! If you are a self-hoster, you can even host your own instance of wefwef, giving you greater privacy and more control. 2. If you are looking for communities, visit [lemmyverse.net](https://lemmyverse.net) and [browse.feddit.de](https://browse.feddit.de/) to find them. These sites give information about participation levels that is otherwise impossible to see in Lemmy's UI, allowing you to pick the most active communities to participate in. 3. Talk to other users! The more you comment, the more people you will meet who can share insights on good communities, how to deal with bugs, or whatever else is interesting or troubling you at a given moment. Here in the Ninja Tea Room community, you can introduce yourself to other lemmy.ninja users and get a better picture of who those 20 users are. 4. Finally, don't sweat it if things don't appear to be working well. Lemmy.world is so big that they're having issues serving up content. Other sites are aggressively updating, but may be running into issues sharing or receiving content from other Lemmy servers. If things don't work, give it a day or two and see if they resolve. That's all for now, ninjas!

It’s wonderful to meet you. “Where does he get those wonderful toys?” Good question. I’m an amateur radio operator (wn7ant), information security professional, and love playing retroFPS (boomer shooters). I’m an admin here, so if you run in to a problem just let me know and I’ll make up a convincing sounding answer. I’m located near Denver so you may find me in the Colorado communities along with tech communities. On occasion I play around with making LoFi and LoTech music. I have an MPC1000, SP-505, LoFi-12, TextureLab, QY-70 and a BlueBox.

I am here. I arrived because I had a gun put to my head by Rotary Keyboard, and MrEuser. They thought I needed to grace this place with my glowing personality and cheery disposition. I am an Alien. I've been around for many years, and seen a thing or two. (Bum da dum, bum bum Pum Bum) Im totally new to this Lemmy thing, tying to figure it out and seeing if I can prove you can teach a old dog new tricks... Especially if you provide enough treats. Does that tell you anything about me? Not really but what else do you want to know? I'm an enigma to those who know me not, and an Open Book to those that know me best.

Okay, I'll start! I'm RotaryKeyboard. I'm jacking in from Utah, behind the Zion Curtain. I got into Lemmy because it reminds me so much of the old BBS model of internet access that I grew up with. Based on my experiences trying to learn Lemmy and find content, I started a [Community Search Tips](https://lemmy.ninja/c/communitysearchtips) community where I could share different ways to find Lemmy communities and talk about the good ones. There's lots of duplicate communities out there, so I'm hoping that Community Search Tips will help us sort the wheat from the chaff. Feel free to subscribe and drop by with your suggestions or discussion about Fediverse content!
