Abandoned community

There is a community on feddit.nl that seems to be abandoned - the founder has never posted in it and hasn't used Lemmy at all in several months. I sent them a private message last Thursday, and they haven't responded. Is there a way to request being made moderator of the community?

Or, I could just start another community on my home instance and ignore the existing community. If the feddit.nl admins would prefer that route, that's fine. I'd rather use what already exists, shows up in searches, and has accumulated a few subscribers, but it's up to the admins.
