It's a dll injection. Of course it gets flagged as a virus, because technically it is. That doesn't mean that it is malicious.

Here is an example... On paper, reshade is a horrifically dangerous piece of software. It doesn't get flagged only because it is well known and virus scanners have an exception for it.

Any of these geniuses stopped to think that Spotify changing its code and altering the way that it interacts with the dll could result in more "detections"?

MacOS is infinitely better than windows.

Yeah, no. Not even close. If nothing else, window management on MacOS is a fucking joke. The only thing that makes it less shitty is 3 party apps like rectanglesapp.

The settings menu is a fucking joke and laid out by the dumbest motherfuckers you've never met.

    It prioritizes wifi above Ethernet.

The list goes on and on and on. MacOS is a messy hodgepodge of shit that barely works.

Windows has a lot of issues too, but thankfully, they are always fixable or have a workaround. In many cases, you have zero recourse on MacOS and if you don't like it you can send an angry email to Mr tim apple.

I didn't lie. The person gendered themselves as "goddess" and went nuts over people not capitalizing their pronouns.

Others have replied to your comments with links and receipts.

So, turns out, you're the one who is lying.

You say that I'm committing acts of violence out of hatred for people different from me. Nothing that I have said could be credibly construed as such.

You use the term "transphobe" in whatever way suits you as a bludgeon in order to try to "win" online discussions. That is scummy behavior. It's also pathetic. I pity you, that you have to debase yourself this much in an effort to make yourself seem credible. All the while showing your true colors; That you are weak, selfish, and willing to use another person's pain if it benefits you in some way.

Please, spend some time reflecting and stop putting so much value on "winning" an online discussion. There are no prizes here. When you make an argument in bad faith it shows everyone watching/reading that your position is flawed and that what you have to say as a whole can be largely ignored. This is undesirable because you may have many great things to say, but once your credibility is destroyed, it is very difficult to gain it back.

So I'm a transphobe for relaying an incident that actually happened now?

Or am I a transphobe for suggesting that guardrails are a good idea? I'm not suggesting gatekeeping pronouns or gender, but I would put forth that claiming one's gender as "goddess" and that their pronouns must be capitalized and if you don't you're misgendering them has about as much validity as some maga asshole saying that they identify as an attack helicopter.

Of course inclusiveness is important, but it is also important to have a firm foot on reality and recognize ridiculousness for what it is, and possibly more importantly, call it out.

Unfortunately, in the trans community, it has veered towards an "all things are valid" approach, however while that is great sentiment to have, it breaks down the moment someone abuses it in bad faith, whether it be a maga asshole, or someone claiming that they are a goddess (and should be recognized as such) and that their preferred pronouns MUST be capitalized or it's you misgendering them.

To be fair, blahaj zone is a bit of a mess. Let's not forget people trying to navigate the insane user insisting that their pronouns were goddess and going mental over claiming that people who didn't capitalize properly were misgendering them.

At some point, you have to set limits as to what you will tolerate. I understand that an all inclusive instance would be reluctant to do so. However, you'll end up with MAGAts doing shit like this for fun, just to see an entire instance bend over backwards to try to accommodate, and you will get genuinely insane people doing the same thinking that they are doing nothing out of the ordinary.

Interestingly enough, while I am not part of the lgbtq+tia community, I am a staunch ally and even I feel as though bz is a place I want to steer far away from.

Moderating that instance must be fucking exhausting.

As I have repeatedly said... Just because Biden has repeated the US company line of unequivocal support for Israel, etc etc (Because even among democrats it's political suicide to say anything else). That doesn't mean that he hasn't been trying the entire time to get Israel to stop the bullshit. This is more or less a point for point list of a lot of the things that have been tried. It misses quite a few of the more notable ones, but it grabs enough so that you get the idea.

So, until recently, I have been using https://github.com/rimu/no-qanon/blob/master/hosts.txt However, as some issues that I have opened have shown, there are a bunch of left wing and progressive sites on this list ( https://github.com/rimu/no-qanon/issues ). I no longer think that it is trustworthy. Especially after reading some of the repo owners replies. Intentionally added was t.me which is a generic url for any telegram group. Discordapp.com was on it at one point. Oy Vey. It's clear to me that the owner of this repo is not actually spending much time actually curating this list and instead it's just a shotgun approach. Does anyone know of a good alternative?

You know, this is some shit that I expect when dealing with some shady asshole on ebay, but LMG? Bro... Are you ok? # My personal thoughts At first it came off a bit whiney, but I watched the entire thing and I'm glad I did. It shows a pattern of carelessness and in some cases complete douchebaggery of LMG. What they did to Billet Labs is absolutely un-fucking excusable. LMG and Linus, in particular, needs to be mercilessly shamed for that until Billet Labs gets a clear and unequivocal apology and paid restitution for damages. Fucking shameful. What a bunch of pricks. # Video Description This video is not monetized. This video covers our serious concerns regarding the data accuracy of Linus Media Group, including Linus Tech Tips, ShortCircuit, and TechQuickie, particularly as it relates to rushing content out the door to favor -- by staff's own admission -- quantity over quality. As the company continues to expand into its LTT Labs direction, the importance of accurate data increases; however, even as 'only' entertainment, there are still certain responsibilities to the consumer and the manufacturers to report fairly (and to have defined corrections processes in place). We tried to approach this as objectively as possible and hope that viewers are able to listen to the evidence we present, particularly as it relates to significant and frequent data errors that now present in nearly every technical review video.

I understand that you guys probably can't do anything about the interface in lemmy, but, like nearly everyone else, I was searching via the "communities" area because it's the only place with an obvious search button. People were talking in another thread about searching via url, but nothing ever came up, until I found a comment at the very bottom mentioning the search button in the top right. This is bad ui and very confusing. I want to like lemmy so badly, and I love the idea behind the fediverse, but the setup could not be more confusing it if intentionally tried to be. If there were a search BOX in the top right, then that would be much more visible and eyecatching, but I (and I have to assume many others) had no idea that there were multiple search types. And you know the even worse thing? In the communities tab there is a "URL" search option, and when I put a valid url in that box and searched for it, nothing came up. ![](https://beehaw.org/pictrs/image/78ada599-ca2a-4b19-a3ce-a5c4adbb3b2e.png) I'm pissy because I'm frustrated and imo this is a lemmy self-own. I have been just going with the flow and trying to figure out how it works as I go, but you have to understand, the fediverse only sounds good in theory. For MOST people, in practice what it sounds like is that they're cut off from the rest of lemmy based upon what instance they join. There is a reason that so many people are joining lemmy.ml. They want access to all the content posted, not JUST the little (or big) instance that they happened to sign up for. Assurances that you can easily access the rest of the fediverse are garbage without a lot of explanation because when people actually try via what seems to be the most obvious way, it doesn't work the way it seems it should. I still don't know how to see what is effectively the front page of lemmy.ml posts intertwined with the beehaw ones and my beehaw front page. I pretty much get it now, but this needs to be explained in a way that is easy to follow and doesn't assume that someone is using an app or desktop respectively. Speaking of that, lemmur looks nifty, but no matter how much entering of beehaw.org and cursing will resolve "instance not found". Sorry for the rant, but I'm quite frustrated and pissy about how difficult it has been to do some of the most seemingly simple things. Edit: Airing this grievance made me feel a lot better lol
