It really depends on how Israel plan to use their ALBMs. If they use them to strike a bunch of above ground Iranian missile/aerospace facilities, or just one or two air defence systems again, I can see this blowing over. If Israel use the ALBMs to carry out a full SEAD/DEAD campaign to open up the way for a more substantial bombing campaign, that would mean war.

If your main concern is trans rights, your options are extremely limited as most countries in the world are worse off than solid blue/Democrat states in the USA, on this issue. Getting access to trans healthcare and those important things would be very challenging in most "global south" countries. I wouldn't recommend South Africa, while on paper LGBT rights are well protected, the reality is different and you'll be forced to have a good private healthcare plan, called a medical aid. If you're earning US dollars or Euros you'll probably find our private healthcare really cheap compared to the USA, but if you're earning a salary in South African Rands (ZAR), the private healthcare here is very expensive.

If you are currently living in a red/Republican state, swing state, or a Democratic state that is not good on trans issues, a more realistic plan would be to move to state that is protective of trans rights as a start. It's much easier than moving to an entirely new country, I would assume. If you already live in such a state and want to leave the USA (very understandable), you'll have to research countries that have good protection of trans rights, on paper and in practice, with affordable access to the healthcare you need. I imagine this is going to be a pretty short list of options, mainly consisting of Western European nations, and maybe New Zealand or Australia.

Just read the leaked documents, and let's just say things are not looking good for Iranian air defence systems if/when this attack happens. Israel plans to use Air Launched Ballistic Missiles (ALBM) in a Suppression/Destruction of Enemies Air Defences (SEAD/DEAD) operation, similar to how Russia has used Kinzhal missiles against Patriot AD systems in Ukraine. This is an ability Israel has already successfully demonstrated against Iranian air defences before, taking out an Iranian S-300PMU2 radar with an ALBM in April of this year if I remember correctly. I'll do a longer write up later, but this points to a large operation/retaliation plan.

Makes sense, one THAAD battery only has 48 interceptors. That's only enough to cover one missile salvo aimed at one target. Remember, there were 33 confirmed hits at Nevatim, with a total suspected of around 40.

I'd argue that military observers from the DPRK have been in Russia for a while now. We know that North Korean Short Range Ballistic Missiles (SRBMs) have been used by Russia since January 2024, in the solid fueled KN-23 missile, there are pictures of it's debris at target sites in the aftermath of strikes. This is different, this is an infantry deployment.

  • aaaaaaadjsf aaaaaaadjsf 2d ago 100%

The Silver Huskey user states exactly why people are not going to use Mastodon over corporate social media. The confusing nature and lack of moderation compared to corporate platforms is why people will continue to use corporate platforms. This is what Silver Huskey said, for context:

Had a bunch of my friends try Mastodon. Many of them found it confusing, and just left. I tried my best to explain it and even wrote tutorials. Only a handful stayed.

Then others were run off because of anti-black racism. (A lot of Instances are just terrible. In my quest to find a home, I saw so many places using slurs. Hard R too.)

It's also deeply non-materialist. There is nothing inherent to one's skin tone or gender identity in terms of ideology, no one is born a imperialist. The reason most people in the global north support the current world order is because they are it's beneficiaries. That order is not going to change just because the racial or gender identity of those in charge or making up the empire changes. New cultural identities will form to justify the global capitalist-imperialist system in such a scenario. These ideologies adapt and change to suit what is required by the global capitalist system, and not the other way around. Look at the history of Liberia for example, where freed African American and Afro Caribbean people proceeded to form their own cultural identity and colonised a part of Africa. Communitarian ideologies based around race or gender identity cannot be a substitute for the absence of a socialist ideology in the working class. This is true for even the most radical of communities.

The first actual evidence of North Korean troops being present in Russia has just been released, with a video showing soliders speaking what sounds like Korean, and getting outfitted with Russian military gear likely in the far east of Russia, near the border with the DPRK. I wonder what will happen with these troops, are they in Russia just for military drills, or will they be deployed to the front lines.

I think if they do end up on the front lines (which seems more likely as time passes), it is a negative signal for stability in the Korean peninsula, and shows that the DPRK are preparing for war and want battlefield experience in a modern conflict. This would likely be in response to the military escalation by the ROK, who unveiled the gigantic bunker buster Hyunmoo-5 IRBM, a missile the weight and size of an ICBM, but with a range of only 3000km, while simultaneously flying drones over Pyongyang this month. The message is clear. This is a first strike weapon designed to take out the leadership of the DPRK in a decapitation strike, and the ROK can track them with surveillance drones.

The DPRK's reaction to this massive escalation in the media has been to deny the effectiveness of this weapon and call it useless, but to me the actions taken by the DPRK in response (stating that reunification is not possible, blowing up roads connecting to the ROK, artillery on high alert) show that they think the opposite with regards to this escalation. If North Korean troops end up fighting in Kursk or Ukraine, it would be one further sign that the DPRK are preparing for war and improving their combat readiness.

I use it because "comrade" is still actually used to refer to people within political parties in South Africa, mostly within political parties that were part of the resistance to apartheid. If you watch an ANC/SACP/COSATU conference you'll hear the word comrade quite a bit.

It's not the debunked claims. As someone that did compete in sports in high school (albeit poorly), the story does check out. Sports organisations are underfunded and end up becoming circular/annulation like organisations in which athletes parents, loved ones, family, etc get involved and take up senior positions. I've seen it happen before. Even outside of my personal experiences, the stories about athletes having one of their parents as a head coach are pretty infamous, or just famous, depending on how good the athlete is. I don't think anyone cares that Armand Duplantis' coach is his dad for example, he's the world record holder. However, you could argue that when this happens in more "subjective" sports, that there is a high potential for cheating, especially in organisational positions outside of coaching. There's a strong argument there.

As someone that always got the creeps from this guy and got tired of seeing him all over social media promoting his nonsense with his whole "I'm a professor at Stanford" act, this article is cathartic and somewhat vindicating to read. The long and the short of it is that while preaching self control, cutting out toxicity from your life, and creating peace, he proceeded to have affairs with five or six different women at the same time, with unprotected sex and potential spreading of STDs/STIs, along with cheating on the woman he was trying to have a child with, as well as ghosting pretty much everyone in his life constantly. He also made up a dubious backstory to hide the nepotism that allowed him to have a career at Stanford: > What does seem certain is that in his adolescence, Andrew became a regular consumer of talk therapy. In therapy, one learns to tell stories about one’s experience. A story one could tell is: I overcame immense odds to be where I am. Another is: The son of a Stanford professor, born at Stanford Hospital, grows up to be a Stanford professor. For context with this paragraph, Huberman talks about the benefits of therapy all the time: > Andrew’s relationship to therapy remains intriguing. “We were at dinner once,” says Eve, “and he told me something personal, and I suggested he talk to his therapist. He laughed it off like that wasn’t ever going to happen, so I asked him if he lied to his therapist. He told me he did all the time.” As a summary for how his podcast is filled with projection: > With repeated listening to the podcast, one discerns a man undergoing, in public, an effort to understand himself. There are hours of talking about addiction, trauma, dopamine, and fear. Narcissism comes up consistently. One can see attempts to understand and also places where those attempts swerve into self-indulgence.

The world did view apartheid in that manner, no argument there. History says these men were on the wrong side. Although the military and political landscape is quite vast. Let's for argument's sake say what one person's experience was true, that he farmed in Namibia for the SADF in attempts to win hearts and minds, did his mandatory service automatically make him a racist? Surely not. As long as targets were military most of the time and in line with the greater goals of keeping communist states disorganized and supporting indigenous resistance, it would be quite hard to label military motives as racist. # :what-the-hell: :fidel-wut: :wut: ::: Also feel free to brigade that shithole subreddit as much as you want. A dessert typically associated with bisexuals on the internet, they're actually pretty delicious and not that difficult to make. **Ingredients:** 1 cup Butter, Vegan comrades can use vegan butter as an alternative, if you can't find it at a store you can make your own using plant based milk and various instructions online (I'm not vegan so I can't comment on how to do this), ½ cup Sugar 2 cups flour, gluten or wheat free comrades can use coconut or rice flour, or a mixture of the two (my preferred method when making for wheat allergic friends, I'm not gluten/wheat free myself),  ½ teaspoon vanilla essence/extract (optional), 4 Eggs, Vegans can replace this with 2 to 2  ½ cups of coconut milk, 1 ½ cups of sugar, ¼ cup flour, gluten free comrades can use the same substitute as before and vegans can replace this with corn starch/flour as it binds to the coconut milk better, Enough lemons to make between  ½ to 1 cup of lemon juice, usually between 2 to 4 lemons based on personal preference. A bit of confectionery sugar to sprinkle on top (optional). **Directions** Step 1 Pre Heat oven to 180°C (about 350°F). Step 2 Line the bottom of a 23 by 33 centimeter (9 by 13 inches) or similar size oven proof container/pan/dish with baking paper or a little bit of butter and flour or non stick spray to prevent the base from being stuck to the bottom. Step 3 In a bowl using a whisk, mixer or blender, blend together the butter/vegan butter, 2 cups flour/gluten free substitute, 1/2 cup sugar and optional vanilla essence/extract . Do not melt the butter before mixing as this will make the crust less flaky and compact. Press and compact into the bottom of the pan/dish. Step 4 Bake the base for 10 to 15 minutes in the oven, or until the edges start getting golden and the middle is firm. In a bowl, mix together the 1/2 cups sugar and 1/4 cup flour/corn flour/gluten free substitute. Whisk in the 4 eggs/coconut milk and lemon juice, made by cutting open the lemons and juicing them into a cup, and using a sieve to filter out the seeds and "flesh" while adding to the mix . Pour over the baked base/crust. Step 5 Lower the oven temperature by 10°C/20°F and bake for 20 minutes in the oven. Leave the bars to cool a bit before cutting them into squares or rectangles or what ever shape you want really (Anarchy means no rules!!!:anarchy: ). If you want you can sprinkle a bit of confectionery sugar on top (I don't like doing this). If you like them cool and want them to firm up more you can store them in the fridge. And you're done! Eat away. Hope everyone enjoyed that one! If the ingredients are too expensive or the recipe is too large remember you can halve the quantity of all ingredients and use a smaller container to make less lemon bars. Cheers and lots of appreciation and love to everyone!
