What advantages have Nixos over.. lets say arch or debian stable ?

i Have a homelab, i work and design computer/server/linux/security solutions for enterprises from my home. Lemmy is just another docker process in my lab.

BBS, ftpmail, archie, veronica, news, mail !! tons and tons of information never before available to me..

When i first started woking at a Unix maker.. my task for my first 2 months was to know and document every file in /etc, /usr/bin/ and /bin..

After that month, my mentor ask me ..

what /usr/bin/ldd does ? and show me an example.

just learned about electron.. is that thing where they glue a chrome + node.js ? that thing is bad.. !!

The thing with lemmy it seems that you can install your own instance and the "federation magic" shares content between instances, but not accounts ?? !!!

We need this..

No account federation ? Why its called Fediverse ?
