The struggle is super relatable. I've taken to letting my lib friends share complaints with us then when voting comes up mentioning PSL and Green parties. They don't live in a swing state but still are visibly shocked by the suggestion.

Wth, that's obnoxious. They don't even need a printer, a stamp or something should be fine

All the venues around here that I go to (nothing large, I'm pretty cheap) let you buy at the door. Obv depends on the show, but plenty of shows don't sell out, so you can save yourself the fee by buying the ticket there

It was pretty jarring not having that voice after the update. I think there's a mod to patch it back in though

One Palestinian state is the only solution.
How is a 2 state plan any different that the appeasement policy Eurpoean countries had for dealing with nazis? Even American schools talk about how bad an idea that was.

Weird. Was there a source claiming there was one?

Didn't think to check Youtube. Ty!

I think they're more regulated there, like the only flavor is tobacco, their use is prohibited in certain places, etc

Nice! I've been meaning to check it out too.
Any chance you could DM the link?

Is there a good site to listen to Blowback? Been meaning to check it out for some time.
Tried checking out the first season the other day and the sites I found it on had embedded ads and I couldn't get through the first quarter of the episode before technical difficulties followed by an authentication wall, so kind of lost interest.

Kinda curious how they picked these. Not that any of these are great, but most pg-13 horror movies are so forgettable it seems the author just overlooked them.

The site literally made a subreddit years ago for bots trained on specific subreddits to interact with each other. Waaay before ChatGPT, the tech to do something like this is not new lol.

You're probably just goofin, but maybe chill with the person just asking for reading material.
I'm also not a big fan of quizzes to figure out political stuff, but everyone starts somewhere.

That's cool to see. Please be conscious of your infosec, but have you worked with them? I'd be interested in learning more. Feel free to DM me if you'd feel more comfortable replying that way.
I tried to contact them a while back but it never went any where.

What's the deal with Stein? I periodically see that she sucks or is a grifter, but usually it's a dem who is pissed she might "split the vote."
From what I've seen of her platform she actually has many concrete, progressive goals with pretty specific carve outs for of various largely overlooked groups of people. It's not like she's explicitly for landback or dissolving Israel and the US, but definitely leagues better (on paper) than the dems.
All that being said, I'm voting for Claudia and Karina for an explicitly socialist platform. Ngl though, I wish the PSL vote socialist website had a long list of concrete points like the Stein website does.

An American who spent time stationed in Kenya (they never could tell me why we have a base there, go figure) told me about a group of navy seals that decided to try to put a t-shirt on a baboon once. Apparently they all ended up in the infirmary.
America isn't sending the brightest.

Agreed, besides discussing history the other context to use the term luddite is "I'm a luddite." They were right and if a new group emerges ready to burn down data centers and tar and feather tech oligarchs then let them have at it.

Pretty sure I stopped playing after an early boss fight.
The good stuff:
- struggling to carry too much stuff
- dropping too much stuff
- throwing containers at people
- building stuff with players you don't have to interact with
- peeing to grow mushrooms
The bad stuff:
- story was eh
- npcs
- sudden boss fight after 10+ hours of not using any combat related controls
Enjoyed my time with it overall though. Keep meaning to come back to it and never do for whatever reason.
I also never got around to MGS 5 even though I really liked all the other metal gear games I've played, something about a more open world is vaguely intimidating I guess.
> “This sends a message all the way up to the top,” one of the US officials told CNN. “Seizing the foreign head of state’s plane is unheard-of for criminal matters. We’re sending a clear message here that no one is above the law, no one is above the reach of US sanctions.” ... > “We see these officials and the Maduro regime basically fleecing the Venezuelan people for their own gain,” the US official said. “You have people who can’t even afford a loaf of bread there and then you have the president of Venezuela jetting around in a high-class private jet.” Considering the electoral college exists and America effectively has 1 party, Venezuala should take Air Force One after the next American election. The election wasn't free or fair afterall.
Anyone familiar with the Cincinatti Metro area? I have an opportunity to potentially move there and would really appreciate any tips y'all might have. Things I'm trying to keep in mind: - relatively close to some type of left organizing (<30 min drive). There might be a local DSA or PSL chapter, not sure how active though - diversity - dog friendly - walkable/bike able for errands / parks / poi - public transportation - safe to have gender bending presentation in the neighborhood I've heard good things about: - Oakley - Covington - Bellevue - Hyde Park - Newport - Silverton - a few others whose names aren't coming to mind The KY side seems more outwardly conservative (some pockets of pride flags tho) but is also significantly less expensive Any areas that yall would recommend looking at?
Any ideas what modern resources are useful for back end devs to learn modern front end development? I'm decently familiar with the basics of html, css, js, but don't really have experience with frameworks beyond basic bootstrap v3/v5, a smidge of react, some angular 1, etc. Kind of a smattering of tools but without real confidence to wield them in anger, you know? Hopefully this post can be helpful for other design challenged programmers. Edit: extra resources on accessibility and security would also be much appreciated!
