I know Teslas are meme clown cars on Lemmy, but in some places they're very common, normal cars to own. So to answer, yes I do actually own a Tesla.

IMO an engineer should be able to develop a complex system which an entire company could potentially be based upon.
A developer who isn't an engineer would focus more on individual libraries, apps or tools that don't necessarily require the mindset of an engineer to design and maintain.

Its a valiant attempt at being a smartass but it falls down since this is clearly produced in the US for an audience in the US.

Why Are Rails Shaped Like That? An overview of the wheel/rail interactions and part of the railway engineering series. In the 19th century, railway engineering was all about how to build railroads. Modern rail engineering focuses on getting the most out of the system. It might not look like much when you see a train passing by, but a huge amount of research, testing, and engineering went into the shape of those rails and wheels.
I'm very new to Solarpunk, but Hundertwasser seems to gel very nicely with what I've seen of the ethos. He has designed, and actually implemented many buildings which tightly integrate nature into the urban environment. His political views leave a LOT to be desired but his work is extremely inspiring. https://hundertwasser.com/en/ecology/arch75_das_huegelwiesenland_1094
Post all the spinoff and related projects, channels and videos here to collect them all in one place. Whether its an ex crew member who's started their own channel or someone contributing to the project, it belongs here.
Open House 2023 Sunday 10th September, 9am - 1pm All time-slots are now booked, but if you'd like to attend the open house, please come between 9am and 1pm and there will be a queue for people who were not able to book a slot! We are located in the Port Townsend Boatyard (the exact location is shown on the booking page). What to expect; When you arrive just before your allocated time, you will be guided up some steps onto a mezzanine, where you will be able to see Tally Ho's deck for a short time. Then you will pass into the woodworking shop where some of the crew will be answering questions, before exiting. We are anticipating a lot of people, so we have to limit viewing time on the mezzanine to try to ensure eveybody gets to see Tally Ho's deck. After you have passed through the workshop you are welcome to spend more time in the big shed looking at the Tally Ho from below. Please be respectful of other businesses in the boatyard, and keep out of the roads and access areas. Be aware that there could be a wait, even if you have booked a slot. Bring food, water, sunscreen etc if you need it. There is no fee, but feel free to give donations to the project or tips to the crew if you feel like it. There will be no parking in the boatyard itself - we recommend parking across the main road in the Safeway parking lot and making a short walk from there. Our open house event coincides with the final day of the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival (which I highly recommend).
Just created a community for discussion around the YT channel Sampson Boat company. Some of the highest quality work I've ever seen, and at large scale. Come on over!
We appreciate the work y'all do
On v0.0.34. Is there a setting for this or is it just a bug? Not sure where to access any debug logs in the release version of the app
Does anyone know of a simpler chore tracker than Grocy? I essentialy just want reminders for recurring tasks like rinsing heat pump filters, oiling wooden work surfaces etc. Grocy seems like overkill for that, but maybe it's the easiest option?
