Sorry if it looked otherwise, I was agreeing to BCsven. I agree with you

Yea like the default is smart? How is it supposed to know if that's critical or not at that point? The alternative is for it to silently fail and wait for something else to break instead of failing gracefully? I feel like I'm growing more and more petty and matching the language of systemd haters but like just think about it for a few minutes????

I feel like anyone who genuinely has a strong opinion on this and isn't actively developing something related has too much time on their hands ricing their desktop and needs to get a job

If you put a chat on your scratchpad, you can toggle the chat floating on top of all other windows and then put it away. I'll maybe put up a demo later

Yeah, systemd-init. Pretty sure the GUI installer uses systemd-init -- never broke once for me.

"haha you're vegan!!!! I will eat twice as much meat!! haah" dude i just mentioned it cuz we're going to dinner and it's actually relevant...
wormer 12mo ago • 100%
Exactly - just as people dismiss feminism based on their surface level understanding of the movement, please try and learn about what the whole of the term veganism means before you have such strong convictions about it. Not knowing about something is ok - disagreeing strongly based on a lack of information isn't.

Sure, so why aren't the 75-80% who aren't not vegan? What is your point? That disadvantaged people exist so everyone else can't do anything?

Yup, figuring out how to install gcc 10 was a pain. Turns out I needed stdenvgcc10, but how would I have known that without reading like the entirety of nix pills? I don't want to read a manual for 2 hours to figure out how to do something basic. Not to mention nix pills is SO dense that as someone who can't learn from textbooks, its impossible.

I have a terrible habit of watching Youtube while I eat, and then one video turns to ten and I've wasted the entire day. I've tried just not watching it while I eat, but JUST eating is so incredibly boring that I cave in and turn it on regardless. I can't get any work done while eating either, since it takes me out of flow state when I'm working on something. Same with something like reading - it takes too much concentration to be done at the same time enjoyably. What do you guys do when you eat?

I have a clicky keyboard too but it only feels good when I'm coding. It seems like the consensus is that I should just make it a habit and it's benefits will come as I do it consistently, tho

Do you handwrite or type? I feel like when I type I could write 4 equivalent pages but have de-stressed the equivalent of a half page via handwriting
Hey, I am a big proponent of writing in a journal - I think it really helps me unload the scrambled mess in my brain. The thing is though, writing in my journal takes 1-2 hours of my time - not to mention the time it takes to get into the mood to write for 1-2 hours a day. How do you guys write daily / regularly? When I'm on vacation it's super helpful to write in there, and I wish I could do that during the week. Typing _is_ a solution, but I feel like I write with less efficacy since I don't have a lot of time between sentences. My sentences while writing are a lot more well formed, I think. What do you guys do?
Like in a one column, auto scroller type ui? Jerboa is already like this for mobile, but I can't find one for desktop
