My car is old enough to have a tape deck. Also old enough that I can fix pretty much anything that goes wrong, and unless I crash it, I fully intend to own it until I die. New cars are for chumps.

I don't think I could ever go back to a single monitor setup. Screen real estate is ALWAYS at a premium. I feel so constrained when forced to use just one.

Lol I literally have never seen it. I do like that you can basically shuffle the words and they are all equally stupid sounding:
- Cimmiron, Spirit of the Stallion
- Stallion, Cimmiron on the Spirit
- Spirit, Cimmiron of the Stallion

Thank you for using the correct version.

Stupid sexy spiders. I'm pretty sure Mark Bagley's Ultimate Spider-Man is the root of many of my own insecurities.

You take that back. Ben is beautiful and perfect and I will hear nothing to the contrary.

I got back into Marvel comics because I got into the Marvel By The Month podcast. They read and review every Marvel comic, one month at a time, in chronological order, starting with Fantastic Four #1 in 1961. They talk about what was going on in the world at the time, get into the lives of the creators and the industry, and talk about how well they've aged (or didn't). Plus they've got an absolutely incredible murderers' row of guests. Matt Fraction, Tom Brevoort, Steve Englehart, Mark Waid, Brian Michael Bendis, etc etc. Learning more about the behind the scenes and the people involved reinvigorated my love of the art form.

A different take: Metropolis, and Gotham, and of course Earth-616's New York City are where our pantheons live. Larger than life characters meant to tell allegorical stories about cultural values. And every red-blooded American knows that Superman stands for Truth and Justice, Spider-Man is a selfless hero of the people, and that Batman is a billionaire psychopath who uses violence to address mental health issues, his own and society in general. That last one's not great but it is quite American. Zeus was a bestiality-themed rapist, so I mean shades of grey or whatever, lol.

Oh yeah, for sure. Don't get me wrong, I hope these are good. I liked John Henry Irons, Superboy, and Eradicator as well, lol. Just not the original, and need to be able to stand on their own. I desperately want more games like DE but what I don't want is a bunch of bad actors churning out bad clones sold on someone else's good reputation. Not that I'm accusing any of these games of that, just that given ZA/UM's current situation, it's hard not to worry.

And similarly, all 4 of these are not the real deal. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more games like this and I hope they're good, but I will wait until Kurvitz and Rostov to be at the helm again before getting too excited.

I have FM frame rails on my car. While obviously this is not specifically for the jack points, it does significantly reinforce them. That's kinda similar.

I think if it wasn't a shitty movie, it might get more play. I wouldn't show it because I disagree with it's politics, sure, but I'm sure most theaters would rather just show movies people want to see, as that's how they make money.

I think they are referring to Will Eisner's The Spirit but also Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmiron or whatever the fuck it's called is the worst film title ever.

President Camacho legitimately wanted to find solutions to the problems his constituents faced, AND he had the wisdom and self-awareness to know he needed someone smarter than himself in order to achieve that. He's willing to try things and change his mind when he is presented with new information. Furthermore, when he is successful, he shares the credit equitably with the other people involved.
We're doing much worse than Idiocracy.

I'm paging through "You and Your Gender Identity" and this is pretty great. Looking forward to working my way through it. Thanks!

I appreciate the feedback, and I apologize if that's how it came across. The phrasing was poor and I did not intend to conflate the attraction to penises with either the sexual role performed or my own gender expression. The expression "people with penises" was used to include trans women and gay men, not to exclude anyone. I, as you say, would be fine with a prosthetic or strap on, and I am definitely not ruling people out on their genitals, but I understand how that could come across based on my phrasing. I'm actually talking to a trans guy right now and we've been talking a lot about exactly that. I kept trying to get my previous SO to peg me but she wasn't into it. I super appreciate the feedback though and will keep it in mind going forward.

This has always been my experience, except for one guy, who was great. He unfortunately retired a few years ago. Still working on finding another good one.

Can you elaborate on what you mean here?
many people enjoy and actively pursue performing masculinity or femininity
So. This is something I've never talked to anyone in my real life about, but for whatever reason I'm more comfortable asking a bunch of strangers on the internet for advice. Deep breath. I am coming up on 40yo, and since I was 16 I've mostly been in dedicated heterosexual relationships. I have always considered myself a cis male and maybe a little bi but things are... changing rapidly, I guess. I am single for the first time in years all this freedom and time means I'm doing some long overdue introspection. I don't think I've ever been particularly happy with my body or my gender. I am finding myself much more attracted to people with penises, and more importantly, I am finding myself wanting to play a different, more submissive maybe, role in the bedroom. I finally have an opportunity to try new and different things with all sorts of different people, and that's sort of exciting, but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing or even what I'm feeling. I see a lot of trans folks self-actualizing and I'm super happy for them. I envy them for knowing what they want. I don't know what I want and it's driving me a little crazy lately. I would kill to have that level of knowledge of who I wanted to be. I am not a particularly masculine man, but I don't think I feel like I would be more comfortable being more traditionally feminine, though that doesn't necessarily repulse me, either. I would certainly be happier with less body hair. When I was I kid I wanted to be a robot. Now as an adult I maybe just want to be a robot who fucks occasionally, gender irrelevant. Fully functional, you might say. I don't really know what to do with that feeling, though. Any advice on how to navigate literally any of this would be awesome. I feel like a teenager again, no idea how any of this works or where to even begin. I don't have the knowledge or the language to talk coherently about any of this stuff, and certainly no experience. I am doing my best you guys but all of this is confusing as fuck.
Never in my life have I felt so *used* by a game. Feels dirty. The video game equivalent of emotional abuse. 5 stars, would recommend.
I assume it has something to do with the sound cancelling. It uses white noise or something, right? I'm running out of nails to test this.
So I'm reading *The Art of Game Design: A Book of Lenses* by Jesse Schell and I'm quite enjoying it. I don't really have anyone else in my life who shares my game development interests so I thought it might be fun to put together some kind of regular discussion. I've got a pretty long reading list, would nice to have someone to talk to. Thoughts?
I'm very excited. 97, 5-speed, Torsen, 96k miles.
So I've been using Linux now for a while, and am looking to migrate my dev environment to vim and spend more time in the command line. I'm fairly comfortable with bash but by no means an expert. I've used zsh with some minor customization but just recently learned about fish. I'd love to hear people's opinions.
