Not OP but here you go. I work with young people and have had suicide prevention training multiple times, this is a recurring mantra that not asking about it is much worse than asking.

It really like how long lasting silicon is, I really dislike how much it stains walls and sheets.

Didn't really see the point of specifying vegan cheese on a vegan sub, but yes it is vegan cheese 😁

I watched it yesterday and had a similar reaction. There's really good animation and the story was really good to get more depth for hey character. There were also some interesting call backs. Spoilers below!
Samson still had his powers so we got to see those in action. Also the green phasing person was a man, in the invincible series it's a woman so I wonder what happened there? The people in tubes reminded me of robot too, I wonder if we're going to get more of the others origin stories as well? Monster girl would be cool to see how she got cursed like that

Giving you an upvote for FFVII, that was the game that got me into gaming. Still have the best memories of that one

I'm fuming about this fainting condition I have. Passed out in the loo last night and went face first into some drawers. Cut my cheek open really deeply, nearly all the way through, and need a specialist to stitch my face back together. Been waiting 8 hours in A&E and a bit more time to wait.
Not the NHS fault, they're doing great with thy funding they have and also the senior doctors strike happening today.

Hey there! Thanks for taking this over, I've not been able to post much recently but really glad this community is here. I love sharing knitting patterns and tips.
I'm not a huge fan of self promotion posts really, but there is that blurred line where someone is sharing their own WIP/FO from their own design, etc. What about if we have a self promote day a week? Would something like that work?

No I've not seen that I'll check it out!
The bury your gays trope does seem to be dying out now and there are more and more positive/normal representations but you can still catch it. Brokeback Mountain was a classic example of it, but that's quite old now.

Have you heard of the bury your gays trope? It's a pretty common theme with queer characters dying but it's getting better.

Moiras accent is amazing. Goals for sure.
You're right, the representation is so positive and not through the lens of trauma or grief so it's much more real in some ways. Not saying lgbt people don't have trauma but there's other parts of them too!

The current status is that he's really active on lemmy still and will sometimes pop in on these type of posts and answer your questions.
He did do a follow up about how to take a poop when you haven't for three days lol. So he clearly had trouble getting started again but I think he's well now.

Is this real? It's too cute to be real isn't it?
This is the second advertising post I've seen on lemmy and they were both today. I'm wondering how other people feel about it or if they've even seen posts like this? Personally I'm livid and hate seeing it here. One of the things that attracts me to lemmy is the donation based, volunteer run, distributed, open access nature of it. I don't want it to become profit driven and I really don't want to see companies in what I belive should be a purely social endeavour. I really think making it profit driven will ruin it, if that means it stays smaller then I'm okay with that. Now I know I can block them and move on which is what I've done. I'm also pleased to say that both posts I saw were heavily downvoted and I did my part too. I'm curious if other people agree with me and don't want advertising like this on lemmy? Also, what do people think we can actually do about it if we don't want it around? Petition instance admins to ban advertising accounts? Then how do we define one? Can anything actually be done or do I just have to block and move on from a possibly ever increasing flow of advertising until I get bored and move on? Sorry for the long rambling post and thanks if you read this far.

I read this book years ago when it was the first edition. It really spoke to me about some feelings I thought were really personal but turned out to be fairly common. I read it again years later and it was a good read again. It has some really useful lessons and ideas I think. I'm really curious if anyone else has read it, particularly someone younger than 40, and what they thought about it. If you haven't read it I would recommend giving it a go if you can find it, I'm going to give it another read now it's popped into my head.
Like seriously, who thinks the workers will *actually* stand up against Big Brother though? The bot is keeping us all down. We need to ban the bot, free the lemmy and post without accusations of thought crimes before we can organise to take down BB. But how?
Not when did you come out, that's a whole different story, but when did you know you were a gay bro? I've always been excited by other guys, I remember being very young (like 7/8) and getting a bit too into the wrestling. My parents turned it off 😩 I was around 13 when someone said something about 'gay' and I learned it was a whole thing. It was like a light bulb moment and a bunch of things instantly made sense. And that was it, came out to some friends not long after and that was it. How about you guys?

In a world of constant surveillance, freedom becomes an illusion. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
