    I know it sounds stupid...

But when you cut your GPU power almost in half... You turned settings down a lot right?

That would cause the crash, and sometimes a crash just kinda sticks, no fans, no lights, no output.

You have to flip the switch on the supply and do the hardest of reboots.

Like I said, you probably already did that stuff. But I've seen it happen.

The first thing you should always do is try turning it off and on again

One of the worst things about trump is he gets his opponent to talk about how horrible of a person he is and not how horrible of a president he was.

Running ads like this would actually change the "moderate Republicans" minds, maybe not vote D, but getting them to stay home is still a win.

It's like the people running recent Dem campaigns never read any Douglas Adams

The President in particular is very much a figurehead — he wields no real power whatsoever. He is apparently chosen by the government, but the qualities he is required to display are not those of leadership but those of finely judged outrage. For this reason the President is always a controversial choice, always an infuriating but fascinating character. His job is not to wield power but to draw attention away from it. On those criteria Zaphod Beeblebrox is one of the most successful Presidents the Galaxy has ever had — he has already spent two of his ten presidential years in prison for fraud.

trump is basically Zaphood without all the froody bits.

Only if you don't remember Lil Bush's 8 years...

Cuz shit was the same, it was even more fanatical after 9/11

Then there's HW, who was a wet blanket and I already said was the exception.

Reagan, a literal movie star (and FBI informant) that people worshipped for decades after he left office.

That takes us back over 40 years ago...

Shits been like this longer than I've been alive, and treating the president as the problem hasn't helped anything except voters falsely believing they could relax when it was a new one.

And speaking of pre-Reagan, the prior president was Carter, the last president before neoliberalism took over in response to....

    Can you guess?

    ...

Republican voters fanatical devotion to Ronald Reagan.

Legal Eagle provides a rundown of why this truly is the most important election of our lifetime.

    So far...

I don't know why people insist trump alone is the issue.

Every Republican president since Reagan has been absolute dogshit, and with the exception of HW were only there to be the fall guy and personally take the blame once out of office.

trump could drop dead the second I post this and the threat and dangers of a Republican president wouldn't change. If anything it would get worse because almost anyone would shoot themselves in the foot less than trump.

Everyone that actually did the work on Project 2025 would still carry one and feed their plans to the next Republican who would follow just like trump.

    Great.

Why do you think I said he was?

Genuinely asking because for some reason when I said he was likely against the law like most religious people were, that meant he personally wanted a bride under 16

And I legitimately would like to know why, even after I explicitly said this:

You’ve also twisted that into me labeling him a pedo that wants to marry a child younger than 16 and implied everyone agreed that this law was a good thing. One thing you’ve just invented and another that’s easily disproven

What about that did you read and think I meant Lewis wanted to marry a child?

    Don't spam images.

Your server has to keep a copy, and every server that's federated has to keep a copy.

Post links to the comics. It's much less server space for a link than an image.

The rate limit is there for a reason, a couple over zealous posters can affect most of the smaller instances and even the larger ones.

On December 1, the situation, somehow, worsened when Kanye appeared on The Alex Jones Show. Over the course of the broadcast, he repeatedly praised Hitler and the Nazi party, insisting that he “loves” Nazis and “likes” Hitler, and at one point blatantly declaring, “The Jewish media has made us feel like the Nazis and Hitler have never offered anything of value to the world.” His remarks placed Jones in the rare position of attempting to help Kanye walk back his extremism by reminding him that Nazis “did a lot of very bad things.”

“But they did good things, too,” Ye responded. “We’ve got to stop dissing the Nazis all of the time.”

That was in the morning. By evening, Ye had been indefinitely suspended from Twitter for posting an image of a Nazi swastika inside of a Star of David.

So much anxiety might seem puzzling given that the Biden years have been very good for U.S. oil and gas producers. Domestic oil production is at record highs. The United States is the world’s top producer and leading exporter of natural gas, and profits of companies such as Exxon Mobil and Chevron have surged, too. Even Mr. Biden’s signature climate legislation, the Inflation Reduction Act, offers the industry generous subsidies, thanks to its tax credits for carbon capture and sequestration and for hydrogen production. The biggest oil and gas producers want Mr. Trump to keep the bill intact if he wins.

Oil and gas lobbyists wanting trump to keep Bidens "signature climate legislation" should tell us all we need to know about how seriously Biden has taken climate change...

And with Kamala passing the tie breaking vote against banning fracking...

I don't see how she'll be any different, or why people still act like Biden/Kamala would be good for the environment.

Less damage than the other is still accumulating damage, just at a slower rate.

It's not even undoing the damage Republicans cause.

The cap allows people who can already max out their 401k to get an extra 1-2k every check the last couple months of the year!

You've changed my mind good sir

Obviously the wealthy deserve that extra income.

check the fact sheet to see what they are doing exactly.

I don't see any link for that in the press release, maybe I'm missing it.

    Edit:

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2024/10/21/fact-sheet-biden-harris-administration-proposes-rule-to-expand-coverage-of-affordable-contraception-under-the-affordable-care-act/

Not sure why that wasn't the link you posted, or why anyone expects this to actually pass when Biden's spent four years saying he can't do anything about the House/Senate.

Give credit when things are done, not when someone announced a concept of legislation with zero chance to actually go into effect.

That's not even getting into the real solution is universal healthcare and we've spent literally over a century trying to get it, so obviously the strategy of slowly adding parts isn't working.

Yeah, I mean just look at 2020, around 2/3s of Republicans believe it was stolen.

It wasn't, there's zero evidence it was.

But still, 2/3s agree with it.

Anyone that expects the 19% number to still be true in three weeks is woefully naive. This is the floor, but lots won't say it till the election is over, but are going to say it regardless

Friendly reminder that all we need to do to make it solvent is get rid of the cap.

It's insane we have a max limit and not a minimum. Someone making 160k won't even notice the 6.2% on all of it, someone making 20k tho the 6.2% is life-changing.

The existing system was never designed for this level of wealth inequality.

Unfortunately the Republicans want to break it further and the Dem leadership refuse to acknowledge the obvious solution.

They also warn that the groups appear to be laying the groundwork for a concerted challenge to the result of November’s presidential election if Trump is defeated by Kamala Harris.

In other breaking news, the sun is expected to set tonight bring about a phenomenon called "night time"....

Obviously they're going to pull bullshit like last election, that's what happens when you only punish a few grunts and just let the people who planned it walk free.

Just like in American History X, the people who do the planning see the grunts as disposable, there's always more.

It's only going to get worse because Bidens DOJ is almost completely ineffectual. But Biden won't replace Garland because he's either too scared, or really doesn't have a problem with his refusal to do the job Biden gave him.

    Starts with:

Under President Biden and Vice President Harris’s leadership, the Administration is taking bold action to expand coverage of contraception for the 52 million women of reproductive age with private health insurance, marking the most significant expansion of contraception benefits under the Affordable Care Act in more than a decade.

And provides zero details and just rambles on about how terrible Republicans are.

    This isn't a policy they're suggesting, it's a political ad....

Sounds like they're following the Faux News strategy, which won't work on people that would vote D. They want to hear what Kamala will do, everyone already knows Republicans are shit.

It's disappointing to see that both sides have reduced the president press as simply a propaganda tool

    >India leads the world in generating plastic pollution, producing 10.2 million tons a year (9.3 million metric tons), far more than double the next big-polluting nations, Nigeria and Indonesia. China, often villainized for pollution, ranks fourth but is making tremendous strides in reducing waste, Velis said. Other top plastic polluters are Pakistan, Bangladesh, Russia and Brazil. Those eight nations are responsible for more than half of the globe’s plastic pollution, according to the study’s data. >The United States ranks 90th in plastic pollution with more than 52,500 tons (47,600 metric tons) and the United Kingdom ranks 135th with nearly 5,100 tons (4,600 metric tons), according to the study.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration last week set a hearing date to take comment on the proposed historic change in federal drug policy for Dec. 2. The hearing date means a final decision could well come in the next administration. While it’s possible it could precede the end of President Joe Biden’s term, issuing it before Inauguration Day “would be pretty expedited,” said cannabis lawyer Brian Vicente.
