This year's International ShakeOut Day is October 17, when millions of people worldwide will participate in earthquake drills at work, school, or home! At 10:17 am (local time) on 10/17, you can join people across Oregon practicing earthquake safety. While we encourage you to participate with everyone, you can register your ShakeOut drill for any day of the year, and drill at a time of your choice. You can also include people in multiple locations through video conferencing

I worked at a few local boutique stores supplying them with IT work. Boutique like they sell art, hand crafted stuff, book stores, local hardware shop, etc.
None of them are breaking past $25 million in revenue.
Many are happy to hit $2-3 million, which gives them enough to pay their staff of 5-10 ppl.

I can't imagine who would be opposed to this that isn't brainwashed by corporations.
If approved, Measure 118 would institute a 3% tax on most corporations’ total sales in Oregon above $25 million and distribute the money equally among residents of all ages and incomes. The system would go into effect next year.

It's really sad.
The killer was a former coworker who also lived in the same apartment.
The discussion:

Three days after a just-married Oregon nurse was reported missing, she has been found dead and police have arrested one of her neighbors. Melissa Jubane, 32, was reported missing on Wednesday after she didn’t arrive for her morning shift as a nurse at Providence St. Vincent Center in Portland, “raising concerns among her coworkers, friends, and family,” the Beaverton Police Department said in a Saturday morning Facebook post.

Is there a way to apply and be a scab?
But id be the absolute worst employee. Like they'd tell me to do something and I'd do bare minimum while also shouting, "Well shit y'all can use a union."
I'm fully employed already in a salary position in a major tech company.

Scary. Ive been to a few of these shows and was considering this one, so I'm familiar with their feats.
Hope it's not a serious injury

Honestly I love self checkouts when I'm only grabbing a handful of things.
The issue is that a lot of theft occurs with self checkout, as people are checking out 2-3 things but secretly standing away a pile of things and walking out of the door.
Self checkout at this WinCo led to multiple security guards stopping people from exiting until they can review your order.

It's moreso theft.

My major issue is that all the self checkouts have security up the wazoo because of how much theft occurs with self check out
My local Wincos had a self checkout, and only have 1 or 2 cashiers open. They used to have two security guards and three cashiers managing the self checkout, with a massive line of people all the way to the back. It was like that for two years. Today, I visited and they took the whole thing down, while having 5 checkout lines open. No security guards. Real pleasant experience.
What the heck Sticker Mule
EO Media Group is laying off 28 people amid financial troubles. The La Grande Observer, Blue Mountain Eagle, Hermiston Herald, Wallowa County Chieftain and Baker City Herald will all cease to publish print editions on July 1, according to an announcement from the chain’s publisher, Joe Beach. Subscribers will get copies of the East Oregonian in their mailboxes instead

People with oilier skin may have wet earwax, while those with drier skin tend to have dry earwax, she says. > People of East Asian descent are more likely to have dry earwax, while wet earwax seems to be more common with everyone else

It's always packed. But until we have more events where you can walk around in costumes with knives, swords, wizard staffs and doesn't smell like BO -- this is the best we got.

During jury duty, we got all sorts of shit for even whispering which court room we are going to. We were all numbers and even addressed ourselves as a number. And we were threatened repeatedly with fines and prison sentences.
This motherfucker gets to say whatever the fuck he wants and gets a bunch of verbal warnings and finger wagging.
This is why we lose trust in various govt systems

That's a really good question! Is there a way to look that up?
I was looking at houses in my neighborhood on Zillow and the house was gorgeous, but I rolled my eyes when I saw the old rates.

I wouldn't say the city.
Police have pretty much abandoned downtown.

Is there a way to shut down or loudly announce the move for new posters? Like changing the name of the community?
When searching for a new community, I hate when I see 3 or 4 versions of the same topic and I just pick one at random. Uncertain if I'm part of a dead one or not.
