As they expand the NVENC options that are exposed on the command line, is it getting closer to CPU-encoding level of quality?

The title is a bit weird. On my first reading it makes it sound like two different people can have indistinguishable fingerprints. But after reading/skimming the article+paper, it seems like what they've actually done is been able to correlate fingerprints from different fingers on the same person.

So the title makes it sound like they've weakened the basis of fingerprinting as forensic evidence, when in fact they've developed a way to link the different fingerprints from the same criminal so that additional cases could be solved.

e.g. if a criminal only left a thumb print at one crime scene and an index finger print at another, this posed a problem for investigators because they couldn't link them to the same person, but this "AI" approach can link those two different prints to the same person.

Firing someone "with cause", but without any real actual reason (cause), is illegal.

Right, but non-alcoholic beer is good, because it tastes like hoppy goodness without the alcohol or calories.

Whereas white claw does not taste good, and this has more calories than many (better) seltzers (which already don't have alcohol). So it seems like a weird move.

I assume they are just banking on their name recognition generating some sales, but I hope people go for some of the better options from smaller companies!

With a range that short, you're not going to be doing much roaming around. It obviously has some use cases, but unless you need to be streaming data it doesn't make a lot of sense.

The example we are discussing in this thread is transferring data off of a high res/high performance camera. For many situations this can be done after filming is completed, in which case a cord still makes a lot more sense. Hence my joke.

For live broadcasting it could be useful, but the range still seems quite limiting.

And the external wireless data transfer pack can be connected to the camera by a long thin piece of metal. Maybe we could call it a "cord". And why stop there, it could be disconnected from the camera when you're not transferring data.

I love that you found this workaround, but arguably that code path should do the admin check, too.

Yeah, wireless Android Auto is great, although I've noticed that it's fairly battery-intensive.

I've only used it on rental cars. My own car says that wireless Android Auto is supported, but I've never gotten it to work, and I think the on-screen message saying it should work is actually a bug. Probably because they have the same (or very similar) code running on newer versions of my car which do support wireless Android Auto.

But, like, can't you just use Google photos or something comparable for that?

The annoying thing is that the annoying guys are more likely to get a date, while they just go about their day. Not because they are better, or because their methods are good, but purely because they approach more people.

I hate making people feel uncomfortable (no matter their gender), so I always struggled finding "spontaneous" dates, or even dancing with strangers at a club/party.

The only thing that really worked for me was using dating apps, where both parties have implicitly indicated that they are looking for dates in general (because they're on the app) and explicitly indicated that they are interested in each other (by liking their profile, or whatever).

Although I've heard the apps have all gotten worse lately, I wouldn't really know, as I found someone on Tinder years ago, and now we're happily married.
